Jared moves on to OSU 11/1/15

Jared defends his dissertation 7/15/15
Jared Lindenberger successfully defended his dissertation that focused on the M. tuberculosis GlgE enzyme.
LORENZA PUBLISHES IN JBC 7/14/14
Lorenza's paper detailing structural changes in the Antigen 85C active sitefollowing covalent modification was published in the Journal of Biological Chemistry. Congratulations Lorenza!
LORENZA GETS PH.D. 6/25/14
Lorenza has successfully defended her dissertation. She has decided to join the John Blanchard lab at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Best of luck, Lorenza!
SADLY, THOMAS HAS LEFT US 6/20/14
Thomas was covert with his camera while visiting. The image is a montage he left us during his last group meeting. The lab put on 2 farewell celebrations for Thomas Gschwendtberger. The first was a cookout at the Ronning homestead and the second was a sauerkraut feast. We enjoyed the time you spent with us in the lab and thanks for all the hard work. Best of luck, Thomas!

Summer has finally arrived! This year we welcome the arrival of Thomas Gschwendtberger, Natalie Tober, and Katie Peters.
SPACE CRYSTALLIZATION MOCK SET-UP 4/30/14
Mike Banco and Prof. Ronning traveled to Cape Canaveral to perform some mock crystallization experiments to prepare for the August launch of Space-X 4. This launch will deliver purified protein produced in the Ronning lab for crystallization studies on the International Space Station.
The image shows the group supported by a NASA/CASIS grant and involved in research being performed on the ISS.
BEST TA AND PAPER 4/16/14
Well done Chris and Lorenza. Chris won the Best TA award for 2013-2014. This is an award voted on by undergraduates taking chemistry courses in our department.
Lorenza shared the award for best paper of 2013. The award was for her work identifying the Antigen 85 Complex as the primary target of ebselen, a drug known to inhibit the growth of both drug sensitive and drug resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
