WELCOME TO THE LAB 12/23/13
This semester we welcomed three new graduate students to the Ronning lab. Mike Banco, Chris Goins, and Cecile Petit. We also have a visiting graduate student from the University of Mainz, Thomas Gschwendtberger.
WINTER SOLSTIFEST 2013 12/12/13
The annual Ronning lab Winter Solstifest took place December 12. Once again, we had food from all over the globe and even welcomed some of the Sucheck lab this year.

Lorenza's paper describing the mechanism of Antigen 85 inhibition by ebselen was published in Nature Communications.

MECC CONFERENCE 10/12/13
The lab traveled to Chicago to attend the annual Midwest Enzyme Chemistry Conference. Lorenza was invited to give a talk about her research.

Prof. Ronning was invited to give a talk at the Midwest Carbohydrate and Glycobiology Symposium.
NIH GRANT 9/10/13
Dr. Ronning, in collaboration with the Sucheck group, has been awarded an NIH-R01 grant to support his TB research.
NASA GRANT 5/15/13
Dr. Ronning, in collaboration with two other groups at UToledo, has been awarded a research grant to crystallize proteins in microgravity on the International Space Station.
LORENZA WINS AWARD 5/1/13
Lorenza received a travel grant from the ASBMB to travel to Boston and present her data. She also was the recipient of The ASBMB 2013 Thematic Best Poster Award among those relating to catalytic mechanism. The award is accompanied by a fat check. Congratulations Lorenza!
