Toledo visit
It does not really relate to the Ronning lab at UNMC, but I made my first trip to Toledo since moving to UNMC in January 2020. It was great to see so many of my friends and former colleagues in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. It was a phenomenal visit.
Rasangi Graduation day
Rasangi participated both her Ph.D. hooding at the UNMC convocation and walked during her graduation commencement. Congratulations Rasangi. Rasangi ultimately decided to take a post-doctoral research position at the Duke University Human Vaccine Institute working with Priyamvada Acharya. Best of luck in the future.
Poster day for Rachel and Julia
Julia and Rachel are High School Alliance participants who shadowed researchers in the Ronning lab this fall. The culmination of that time was the Poster session for the entire HSA cohort. What a great group of students.
Rasangi’s defense celebration
To commemorate Rasangi’s many contributions to the Ronning lab and her successful defense, the Ronning lab met for dinner at La Bouvette in Omaha’s Old Market for a spectacular evening of French food and drinks. Rasangi’s sister joined us as well. This also marks the first Ronning lab outing with Malia as part of the group. Welcome Malia.
Congratulation Rasangi!!!
Rasangi successfully defended her Ph.D. dissertation today. Congratulations and thank you for all your hard work and intelligent thinking.
UNEMED innovation award night
My great friend Jared Anderson from Iowa State University visited UNMC to give a seminar, so I decided to bring him to the UNEMED innovation award banquet to experience how we celebrate and acknowledge research innovation in Omaha. It was a great night. His seminar the next day was great as well. Thanks for visiting, Jared.
